Senior Cost Estimator

C. P. O’Halloran Associates Inc. is an independent construction cost management company with over 20 years of industry experience. We are growing and currently have an opportunity for a dynamic, success-driven Senior Cost Estimator in the Los Angeles area.

The Senior Cost Estimator will manage the cost of various projects from concept to project completion, working closely with all levels of staff to provide comprehensive construction cost management and cost estimating services for design professionals and owners. Projects may include healthcare, laboratories, higher education, K-12 schools, office, public infrastructure, residential and hospitality projects.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop design stage labor and material construction cost estimates

• Forecast construction costs based on preliminary, in-progress and complete project documents

• Prepare accurate quantity take-off measurements from drawings

• Solicit and collect subcontractor and vendor price quotations

• Review contractor bids

• Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with clients and other industry professionals

• Work and collaborate with other staff on a variety of projects and tasks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience

• Minimum of 5 years industry experience

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction drawings, specifications, construction means, methods and materials

• Excellent communication skills, ability to lead projects and write complex reports, detailed letters and emails

• Experience with measurement software

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

• Self-motivated and resourceful with excellent organizational, communication, client and team relationship skills
